This 73-year-old patient had long been bothered by the appearance of her eyes but wanted to avoid something as invasive as a facelift. Her main concerns were herniated fat causing under-eye bags, along with excess skin on both her upper and lower eyelids.
Dr. Chadab addressed the lower eyelid fat herniation through a transconjunctival incision, hidden entirely on the inside of the lower lid. Excess skin was then conservatively removed from both the upper and lower eyelids, and the medial fat pad of the upper eyelid was addressed as well. A canthopexy was performed to support and maintain the shape of the lower eyelid. Fat grafting to the face was used to restore volume and soften the transition between the lower lid and cheek, and laser resurfacing was added to improve overall skin tone and texture.
